The ARO piston pump range offers a broad choice of materials (metals, surface treatments, types of packings) in order to give the most effective answer to the wide variety of applications.
LOWER PUMP, CYLINDER AND PLUNGER MATERIAL
Hardened carbon steel: Excellent abrasion resistance - Not suitable for water-borne fluids - Can be hard-chrome plated for longer service-life. 304 or 316 stainless steel: Excellent corrosion resistance with acids and water-borne fluids - Provides fair abrasion resistance — 400 stainless steel: Provides good abrasion resistance - Can be heat treated or hard-chrome plated for longer servicelife— 17-4 stainless steel: Corrosion resistance equal to 304 stainless steel - Good for water-borne fluids - Can be heat treated or hard-chrome plated for longer service-life.

PACKING COMPATIBILITY
U.H.M.W.-PE packing: Ultra High Molecular Weight - Polyethylene is a good all purpose packing - Common uses are with
ink, acids and some solvents - Not designed for using with fluid temperatures over 75°C.
PTFE packing: Chemically compatible with all fluids - Excellent corrosion resistance, but poor abrasion resistance.
Packing assembly, U.H.M.W.-PE and Leather: Chemically compatible with all fluids - Excellent corrosion resistance, but poor abrasion resistance.
Glass-Filled PTFE packing: Used with acids, solvents and corrosive materials - Used in smaller series pumps.
